Fallston, MD (August 19, 2015) – Clean your clubs, practice your swing, and hope for a hole-in-one because the homeless and abandoned animals at The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) are counting on you to compete in the 1st Annual “Putts Fore Paws” golf tournament. This inaugural event will be held on Thursday, September 24 at Mountain Branch Golf Course, 1827 Mountain Road, Joppa, MD 21085, one of Harford County’s best courses. Proceeds will help to provide nourishing food, safe shelter, veterinary care and more to the animals at HSHC.

“The shelter is so fortunate to have animal lover and seasoned golfer Gary Weeks from Movement Mortgage chair this event,” said Jen Swanson, HSHC’s executive director. “Based on his past experiences, Gary has put an exceptional and very exciting tournament together.”

The entry fee of $175 per player ($700 for a team of 4) includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, bag drop service, practice range usage, box lunch, roaming hospitality cart, happy hour and premium open bar, dinner and awards banquet, fabulous door prizes, and a “doggie bag” full of treats. Ticket prices for dinner only ($50 per guest) includes a happy hour, dinner and open bar.

Registration opens at 10:30am with a shotgun start at noon. Contests include Longest Drive, Hole-in-One, and a chance to win a million dollars. A number of premiere prizes will be raffled off including a signed jersey from Brooks Robinson and a large basket of cheer. Adoptable animals will be on-hand for meet and greets and to cheer the players on with wags and purrs.

Help give shelter animals a second chance and get recognized at the same time. There are a number of Putts Fore Paws sponsorship opportunities available that provide recognition on signage at the event, in advertisements, on our web site and social media sites, and in the program that evening. Sponsorships can also be tailored to meet specific needs.

The real winners in the Putts Fore Paws golf tournament will be the many homeless animals at the shelter that will benefit from the proceeds raised at this event.
