Fallston, MD (November 10, 2016) – Five local animal shelters – the Maryland SPCA, BARCS, Baltimore County Animal Services and Baltimore Humane Society – each a member of the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance, along with the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC), are working together to find homes for all of their adoptable pets by holding an ‘Adopt ‘til you drop!’ mega adopt-a-thon at White Marsh Mall on Saturday, November 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All fees will be waived for adopters.

“This is our first ever mega adopt-a-thon at White Marsh Mall,” said Jen Swanson, executive director for HSHC. “What a fantastic opportunity to see adoptable pets from our five shelters under one roof, outside of the shelter environment.”

‘Adopt ‘till you drop!’ will take place inside White Marsh Mall in the space previously occupied by Sports Authority. All adoptions are first-come, first served and regular adoption procedures for each shelter still apply. Potential adopters should bring with them a valid photo ID. Out-of-state residents are eligible to adopt.

Adoptable pets will go home with their new families the day of the event. All pets will have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

The first 150 attendees will receive goodie bags filled with coupons, pet treats and toys. White Marsh Mall is located at 8200 Perry Hall Boulevard, Baltimore, 21236.

About the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA)
In order to better serve the animals and people of the Baltimore community, the major animal welfare organizations in Baltimore— Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), Baltimore County Animal Services, Baltimore Humane Society and the Maryland SPCA, came together to form the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA) in 2008. The founding organizations work together to save animals’ lives. Joint efforts include adoption events, spaying and neutering animals, and transporting animals in need from one shelter to another so that fewer pets are euthanized.
